While Pokemon Go continues to enjoy astonishing success, we’d be remiss if we didn’t cover Sun and Moon — the upcoming main sequence Pokemon game for the 3DS. Earlier today Nintendo unveiled several new Pokemon, new forms for old favorites, as well as Team Skull, the antagonists of the tropically themed games.
If you’ve been out of the loop, Pokemon Sun and Moon are due out later this year — November 18 in North America. The games take place in the tropical islands of Alola, loosely based on real-world Hawaii. Alola has a varied geography which has caused some Pokemon to find new forms. In previous trailers we saw Vulpix, a classic Fire-type Pokemon from Pokemon Red and Blue, get an Ice-type form. Similarly, this latest trailer shows off a Fire/Ghost-type Marowak, a Dark-type Meowth, and more.
So that’s it. Those are the big additions we get this time. What do you think? Is Nintendo showing a bit too much too soon, or, like me, have you caught the hype bug?
