Pokémon GO has been released in Central and South America for iOS and Android. In addition, the Pokémon GO Facebook page has made statements about Battery Saver mode and players obtaining Legendary Pokémon.

Specifically, Pokémon GO was released in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Montserrat, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Battery Saver mode was removed from iOS in the v0.31.0 update (named 1.1.0 on the App Store). The Pokémon GO Facebook page has clarified that it was removed due to being buggy, but Niantic expects to fix it soon and add it back to the game.

Some players managed to obtain Legendary Pokémon in the game. The Pokémon GO Facebook page has clarified that this was an error, and has stated that they have been removed from these players’ games.

Additionally, players are now forced to update to the latest version in order to play the game. Previously, it was still possible to play the game without the update.

Trainers,We are excited to share a few more details with you regarding Pokémon GO:

  • Central and South America – Break out the sneakers and Poké Balls, and get ready to explore the world around you. We are excited to officially be putting Pokémon GO in the hands of our Latin American fans, visitors, and the Olympic athletes in Rio!
  • We have been hearing the feedback loud and clear about the removal of the Battery Saver mode on iOS devices. We had removed this feature as several users were experiencing it to be buggy, but we are fairly confident that a fix for this should roll out within the next several days.
  • A few of our Legendary Pokémon had erroneously been granted to some Trainers. Thanks to the help of several of our Trainers, we were able to locate them and bring them home safely.

We have been working long hours to fix many other bugs and bring some exciting new features to Pokémon GO in the future. However, next up for us is the continued roll-out of Pokémon GO to more countries around the world.

As always, be safe, be nice to your fellow trainers, and keep on exploring.
